Managed Security
NordPass MSP Solutions Partner
The security a business without an IT department does not get to skip.
The Nord Security business suite — passwords, network access, and exposure monitoring — deployed, configured, and managed by the lab, so a business without an IT department runs the same credential and access discipline as one with it.
The stack
Three pieces, deployed in the order the risk runs.
The same three failures recur in the lab’s Technology Enablement readings: shared passwords in a shared note, no policy on who reaches what from where, and no view of what has already leaked. One product closes each. The lab runs all three in its own operation before it puts a client on them.
01 · Credentials
NordPass Business
Passwords, passkeys, and shared credentials — zero-knowledge.
Admin console configured, user accounts created, shared credentials moved out of notes and spreadsheets into vaults, password policy and multi-factor enforcement set. About a day for a team under thirty.
02 · Network access
NordLayer
Network access security for distributed teams.
Zero-trust network access and device-trust policies for remote and multi-site teams. One to two weeks, most of it policy configuration with the people who run the network.
03 · Exposure monitoring
NordStellar
Threat-exposure and external-risk monitoring.
Monitoring for exposed credentials and external risk, for the business and its people. An ongoing service added to a deployment, reviewed in the monthly health check.
The one-line descriptions above are the lab’s. NordPass’s own description of its product is quoted, attributed, on the partners page. This page is about what the lab does with the products.
What managed means
Someone whose job is to run it, runs it.
- 01Read the current posture: shared passwords, reused passwords, no multi-factor, no network policy, no exposure monitoring
- 02Configure the admin console and create the user accounts
- 03Move shared credentials out of notes and spreadsheets into vaults
- 04Set the policies: password strength, multi-factor enforcement, and, where scoped, network and device trust
- 05Train the team in a thirty-minute session, recorded for everyone who joins later
- 06Write the configuration into your SOP library, so nothing depends on remembering
- 07Run the monthly health check, handle joiners and leavers, and escalate to Nord Security when something breaks
- For
- Owner-led businesses of five to fifty seats, regulated verticals first
- Bought as
- Standalone, or inside a Five Horizons build
- Price
- Quoted on scope
- First-level support
- The lab, with escalation to Nord Security
Available as a standalone implementation and ongoing management engagement, or inside a Five Horizons operating-system build. Where a diagnostic has been run, the Technology Enablement read says whether this belongs in the ninety-day plan; the lab never leads with the tools.
How it is billed
Three lines on the invoice, each stated on its own.
Three lines, each quoted in writing after a thirty-minute scoping call: a flat implementation fee scoped by seat count and product mix, a monthly per-seat management retainer with a minimum, and the licenses as their own separately stated line. No figure is published here until the owner has ratified one, and no figure means no checkout: a security deployment starts with a conversation.
Implementation
One-time, flat, scoped by seat count and product mix
Tenant setup, policy configuration, credential migration, multi-factor rollout, the recorded training session, and the configuration written into your SOP library.
Ongoing management
Monthly, per seat, with a minimum
User onboarding and offboarding as the team changes, policy updates as requirements change, a monthly security health check, and first-level support with escalation to Nord Security.
Licenses
Their own line, separately stated, at the rate in the written scope
The lab is a reseller and earns a margin on the licenses. The margin is disclosed on the partners page and again on the invoice, so the recommendation stays one you can audit.
Who it fits
Regulated verticals first, because the obligation is already there.
The pattern is the same in each; the policy details differ. None of this is legal advice, and none of it promises a compliance outcome: it names the duty, and the piece of the stack that addresses it.
Dental and physical therapy practices
Credentials first, then network access
Technical safeguards for protected health information: who can reach a record, from where, and whether a shared login can be traced to a person.
Law firms
Credentials
The duty to protect client confidences extends to the systems that hold them; a shared password in a shared note is the common failure.
Accounting and bookkeeping
Credentials
Client financial data, and the written security plan a tax preparer is expected to keep and follow.
Automotive dealers and service
Credentials, then network access
Shared logins across the service lane and the systems that touch payment data.
Multi-site and remote teams
Network access
People reaching operational systems from home, a second location, or the road, without a network policy that says who may.
Where the money goes
A recommendation you can audit.
Where we earn a margin: this is a reseller relationship — the lab earns a margin on the Nord Security licenses it resells. We disclose it here, and again in any engagement that includes them, so the recommendation stays one you can audit.
The relationship, the designation, and NordPass’s own product claims are all on the partners page. Implementation and management are the lab’s own work and are billed as such.
Before you book.
- What does “managed” mean here?
- Implementation, user provisioning, policy enforcement, a monthly health review, and first-level support. When a user joins or leaves, the lab handles it; when something breaks that the lab cannot fix, it escalates to Nord Security. Managed means someone whose job is to run it, runs it.
- Do we need the diagnostic first?
- No. The security line is available on its own for a business that already knows it has shared passwords and no network policy. Where a diagnostic has been run, the Technology Enablement read says whether this belongs in the ninety-day plan. Either way the lab does not lead with the tools.
- What does it cost?
- Three separately stated lines: a flat implementation fee scoped by seat count and product mix, a monthly per-seat management retainer with a minimum, and the licenses at the rate in the written scope. Each is quoted in writing after a thirty-minute scoping call. No figure is published on this page until the owner has ratified one.
- Who bills the licenses, and where does the lab earn?
- The lab is a NordPass MSP Solutions Partner and a reseller of the Nord Security business suite. It earns a margin on the licenses it resells, and discloses that on the partners page and on every invoice that includes them.
- We handle patient data. Can you deploy this?
- A deployment that touches protected health information proceeds only once the business associate agreements the engagement needs are in place, on both sides. That is confirmed during scoping, before any license is provisioned, not after.
- What happens if we stop?
- The configuration and the runbook are already in your SOP library, and the lab does not renew licenses without you. What happens to the licenses at exit, whether they continue under an account you hold or end at their term, and who holds the top-level admin seat, are written into the scope before anything is provisioned, on Nord Security's terms.
Begin
Thirty minutes, and a written quote.
Tell us the seat count and what the team shares today. A person replies within two business days, the scoping call sets the three lines, and nothing is invoiced before the written scope.
